Fall 2026 classrooms are now booking, reserve a grow lab for your students
Fund your classroom

You probably won't pay for this yourself.

Most classroom grow labs are funded by someone other than the teacher. Here are the ways teachers do it, with the words already written for you.

1

A local sponsor, in one conversation

A restaurant, market or business near your school can sponsor your classroom outright. It's their neighborhood, their customers' kids, and it's tax-deductible. We'll send you the one-page ask.

A grant

Foundations fund exactly this: Toshiba America Foundation (classroom STEM), Captain Planet Foundation (hands-on environmental projects), and local community foundations. We've drafted the application language.

Your PTO

Might parents be willing to step in for something really cool for the classroom? A grow lab might be an easy yes. Here's the email to forward and two slides to show.

DonorsChoose, for established DonorsChoose teachers

If you've completed two or more DonorsChoose projects you can name us as a Special Request. New to DonorsChoose? Use a route above, no waiting period. (We're working on becoming a verified vendor.)

Get on our sponsorship list, the last resort

If you've genuinely tried the routes above and still can't fund it, add your classroom to our sponsorship queue and we'll try to raise the $1,000 locally on your behalf. We can't promise it, but if you truly can't, tell us and we'll do our best.
