How to use it

Build your plan, step by step

  1. 1Select your grade.
  2. 2Select your lesson duration.
  3. 3Choose a focus (science, nutrition or SEL), or keep it balanced.
  4. 4Check out the pre-loaded activities on the right.
  5. 5Add, remove or swap activities however you like.
  6. 6Repeat for each week, 1 through 4.
  7. 7When you're ready, hit Preview & Print to download your lesson plan.

…or honestly, just jump in and figure it out. It's that simple!

📌 One scheduling rule: your planting sessions (Weeks 1-3) and harvest (Week 4) must land on the same day of the week, 7 days apart, four weeks in a row. Everything else, all the science, nutrition and mindfulness activities, can go in any class period.
Before you teach

Two things to grab

A few of the optional activities use a student journal or a slide from the class deck. Download both once and you are set for the whole cycle.

📓

Student journal

Some optional activities have a journal component, students record observations, measurements and reflections. If you select those in the planner, print this journal for your class.

Class slide deck

Some activities list a slide number to project as you teach. Download the accompanying deck and open to the slide the planner calls out for each activity.

Your printed lesson plan tells you exactly when a journal page or a slide number comes up, you never have to guess.
