Build your BYFP lesson plan
in about 5 minutes

Choose your grade, review your pre-loaded activities, and print a complete lesson plan with step-by-step instructions, timing, and materials. No gardening expertise required.

Before you teach

Two things to grab

A few of the optional activities use a student journal or a slide from the class deck. Download both once and you are set for the whole cycle.

📓

Student journal

Some optional activities have a journal component, students record observations, measurements and reflections. If you select those in the planner, print this journal for your class.

📗 Printing instructions
  • Print settings: Landscape orientation, letter paper (11″ × 8.5″), no scaling, with “Print background graphics” enabled.
  • Double-sided: Use your printer’s duplex setting (flip on short edge), or print the odd pages first, reload the paper, then print the even pages.
  • Assemble: Stack all sheets in order, fold in half along the dashed center line, and staple twice along the spine.
  • Result: A 24-page half-letter booklet (about 5.5″ × 8.5″). It works great in black and white, and the flower border prints beautifully in grayscale.

Class slide deck

Some activities list a slide number to project as you teach. Download the accompanying deck and open to the slide the planner calls out for each activity.

Your printed lesson plan tells you exactly when a journal page or a slide number comes up, you never have to guess.

Ready when you are
